چکیده
Objectives: The aim of the present study was to determine effectiveness Epley’s maneuver in curing posterior canal benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV). Methods: This a single-center, hospital-based, prospective observational involving total 51 patients diagnosed with BPPV. diagnosis BPPV confirmed by Dix–Hallpike’s (DHM). were treated using maneuver. followed on 4th, 10th, 30th, and 180th days after initial consultation. response DHM recorded each follow-up visit. Results: Among enrolled participants, 47 did not have any complaints related giddiness post treatment. Thus, treating semicircular at 6 months 92.16%. Overall, 5 participants (10.6%) who cured first visit had recurrence 1-month As duration increased, quality-of-life score decreased, indicating that felt better or relieved from symptoms time. On visits day 4, 10, 1 month, maneuver, it 43.1%, 72.5%, 88.2%, 92.2%, respectively, for those negative DHM. Conclusion: is an effective treatment modality shows significant improvement quality life such low rates.

Vestibulo-Ocular Reflex Abnormalities in Posterior Semicircular Canal Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo: A Pilot Study
Introduction: Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV), involving the semicircular canals, is one of the most common diseases of the inner ear. The video head impulse test (vHIT) is a new test that examines the function of the canals. This study aimed to investigate the vestibulo-ocular reflex (VOR) gain, gain asymmetry and saccades after stimulating all six canals in patients definitively d...
متن کاملAn Abbreviated Diagnostic Maneuver for Posterior Benign Positional Paroxysmal Vertigo
INTRODUCTION Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) secondary to canalolithiasis of the posterior semicircular canal is perhaps the most frequent cause of vertigo and dizziness. One of its properties is a high response rate to canalith repositioning maneuvers. However, delays in the diagnosis and treatment of this entity can range from days to years, depending on the setting. Here, we pres...

BACKGROUND/AIM Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo is one of the most frequent peripheral vestibular system disorders. The aim of this study was to examine the efficacy of the Epley maneuver in treating benign paroxysmal positional vertigo of the posterior semicircular canal (p-BPPV) and to discover possible causes of failure. METHODS This prospective study included 75 patients. In all the c...
متن کاملEfficacy of a new treatment maneuver for posterior canal benign paroxysmal positional vertigo.
Existing treatment maneuvers for posterior canal benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (PC-BPPV) include the Semont liberatory maneuver (SLM) and canalith repositioning maneuver (CRM). Independent investigations reveal that these maneuvers provide an excellent outcome for most patients. However, certain aspects of these maneuvers, such as hyperextension of the neck for CRM and brisk lateral moti...
